Heya everyone.

As you might have seen with my new recent submission, the Pokémon fanfic universe about people turning into anthropomorphic Pokémon, the Hybridverse, is making a return on my page!
Pokemon: Serene Unity (Chapter 1)
"Life has a funny way of blowing up in your face. It seems like wherever you think your life is going, it can spin out of control and leave you in a place where you have never been before. Sometimes you don’t even recognize who you are anymore."
"Oh, you thought I meant figuratively? Well, sure I mean… that’s what most people would assume. Not me though. My story left me different in every way imaginable."
Chapter 1: Fragile Lives
“Why does this crap always happen to me?” The young man had tired himself out from all the running he had just done. When he turned around, he saw the long winding road that had got him where he was, as well as the familiar and iconic tower in the distance. It only reminded him of the humiliation he had just faced.
“Damn it, damn it, damn it! That was the best chance I ever had at getting a decent job and I blew it,” he said, shaking his head and sighing. “Just like always…” He reach

Even though this is a great thing, I feel like I have to preface the return with an explanation about what is happening moving forward with the Hybridverse and, more importantly, how it got to this point.

Some of the people who have followed the Hybridverse since its creation nearly two years ago with Pokémon: A New Evolution might notice something about that new story. It might be a little familiar... and for good reason. The Serene Unity I posted is a reboot of the original Serene Unity originally written by wolf12832, one of the many amazing writers who jumped on board the Hybridverse project. He and several others that I will go on to name helped forge the concept of an interconnected world filled with people turning into anthropomorphic Pokémon. It was exciting and really, really, REALLY ambitious, but we didn't care. We were all so enamored with the concept that we jumped straight into it, creating several series all done by different people, sometimes multiple series by one person! It was a great time, one filled with hours of discussion over story plans and eventually massive role play sessions to help us all build our characters beyond the story. Almost everyone who became involved are now some of my best friends on the internet.

Eventually though, the hype started running out. But not only that; the Hybridverse went through a rough time. Snags in story and continuity, disagreements about the future of the overarching story, creative block, IRL distractions, a lack of communication during the writing process, and a myriad of other issues led to the 'verse being put on a sort of unannounced hiatus. It was no one person's fault; all of us share responsibility for the 'verse getting left behind. Meanwhile, some of us began broadening our horizons and putting creative effort into projects with our own worlds and intellectual property, like my own Project Izona. Things looked really bleak for the Hybridverse.

One night all of us authors came together to talk about this problem we all had. One of the biggest issues of the Hybridverse, one present from the very start, was that it didn't have a good focus on a single overarching story. Rather, the writing process we went with was essentially just putting out our individual work and seeing if we could piece it together from there. It didn't pan out exactly how we had envisioned, especially with our staggered schedules and differing ideas about what the 'verse was about. It was this realization that could have killed the 'verse completely. Why continue working on something that was fundamentally broken?

Well, this is where the new arrangement comes in. I decided to ask each individual writer if I could take over their stories and reboot them into a 'New Hybridverse' of sorts, one that holds the spirit of the original stories but also has laser focused, single vision. It was a question that held a lot of weight both for me and for the authors I asked. Essentially I was asking them all to put their trust in me to make the Hybridverse into something great from the small base that we already had. It was a huge deal, one that required a lot of faith and trust.

I was amazed to find that they could put all of that faith and trust in me.

With all this being said, the entire Hybridverse is now under my management. Even though the original creators can speak with me about it, I have the sole responsibility of writing all of the many Hybridverse series. This is going to be a big adjustment, but it should make be very exciting to all of you who might have wondered where the Hybridverse was going to go.

Below is a list of all the stories of the New Hybridverse.
All of the stories not written by me will be rebooted from the Legacy Hybridverse into the New Hybridverse with all of my new ideas and focus in mind. Please check out the original creators and their pages. They are great friends of mine and I love them all.

While it is already an amazing honor to be able to work with all these characters, it's even more amazing when the original creator has enough trust to fully pass on their characters into my ownership.

Seren (from Pokémon: Serene Unity) and Diamila (from Pokémon: Almian Nights), originally created by wolf12832, are now owned by me. I've always loved these two characters and it means so much to me that he has entrusted me with them. You've already seen Seren in the New Hybridverse version of Serene Unity I posted, but Diamila will make her first New Hybridverse appearance very soon!

The other characters in the stories still belong to their respective owners except where noted. I will always give credit where credit is due, especially since I've been given such an amazing opportunity.

I hope that this journal clears up any questions you might have had about the fate of the Hybridverse, where we had all gone, and the new setup that the universe will have moving forward. I genuinely hope that you all enjoy the universe and the new changes that this arrangement will bring. If you have any questions, just leave a comment here.

Also, I recommend that you visit the profiles of all of the original story creators to read the stories of the Legacy Hybridverse. They deserve your support as well because they are amazing.
